Fun-Key Junky Jewelry Goes to Bella's Vintage Market!!

Getting ready for an antique show is always fun and hectic, there is no other time that my creative juices flow quite so well.  Before Bella's Vintage Market, knowing that she would be having lots of crafters I decided to get some jewelry ready to go.  In the end I chose to only take my less expensive 'FuN-keY' line of necklaces, ($12.99 each) but these are some of the things I worked on the week before the show.

I have been collecting big flower elements for 'flower garden' necklaces, for at least three years, but this is the first one I have actually made.  It is now for sale at Treasures Antiques in Springville.

All four of these necklaces also went to Treasures.
These are my 'FuN-keY' necklaces.  I love them.  Each one is so unique.  I use clock parts, charms, machine bits, and anything metal I can find.  The one on the right has a tiny metal compass in the center.  The long one in the middle is actually the metal insignia off a sewing machine.  I added the sewing machine and sewing scissor charms.  I got a lot of comments on the 'Fun-keY' necklaces I took to the show, but none of them found a new home.  I guess you have to have a certain ability to laugh at yourself to be able to wear one!!  They will also be at Treasures looking for homes.

So here we are at Bella's Vintage market.  Julie, the main organizer is on the right.  To the left is one of an army of her helpers.  And helpers they were, they helped unload the various dealers, as we were short on time for set up, and did all they could to facilitate us.  Thanks all you Bellites!!

This is my space.  I have not done an outdoor show before, other than my flea.o.logy flea markets in Payson (Hey, there is one THIS Saturday!!), so I've not set up and decorated an easy up shade maker before.  I made the flag garland using vintage fabrics and some wonderful hot pink pom trim procured for me by fellow flea.o.logist Cathie!!  I hung various sheer fabrics to take advantage of the breeze and to soften the oh so 'practical' shade unit a bit.

Here is the result of some of my crafting.  This is the second paper mache mannequin I have made.  You can see her somewhat older sister in the tutorial I did a couple of months ago on this blog.  I used paper doilies for decoupaging the lace on her chemise.  Her stripes are strips cut from pages of a French novel.  She found a home with a nice lady from Utah County.

Here is more of the vintage and bleached out muslin flour sacks I have printed with various designs and then have used for upholstering vintage furniture items. Instructions for this project are also in a previous blog entry.

I also took along a few of the antiques that I have for sale, including a nice set of German Canisters, a few pieces of flow blue, and some French enameled metalware.

Having Bella's at Wheeler Farm was so fun. There were chickens wandering around when we were setting up.  These ducks also came to visit a few times.  You can see the blue shade maker over my space in the distance behind them.  Isn't this just a bit of heaven?

These pictures were all taken in Cathie's booth next to mine.  I love her displays.  She has such a wonderful knack.  I always feel like a kid in a candy store, when I see her rows of bottles, bins and baskets, with gathered treasures for making crafts to one's heart's delight!! The red labeled boxes are actually boxes of the said red trimmed labels!!

These pictures are of her button jewelry and magnets.  All are charming and have very friendly prices.  Missed Bella's but want one of these charming necklaces?  Not to worry, they will be at flea.o.logy this Saturday.

Just one more booth down the line of flea.o.logists, and we come to Jennifer's booth.  I love her big flags, they always make me smile. Her style is so full of fun and whimsy.  I admired her stuff before I even knew who she was at my first Beehive Bazaar http://www.thebeehivebazaar.com/index.html

In these pictures we see Jenn's table set up for a Mad Hatter's Tea Party. The napkins are printed art work from a vintage edition of Alice in Wonderland.

Next we see event crowns perfect for any and every party.  I  should know I wore one at my own birthday party ... if you care to look in my archives you will see lots of fun crowns.  I also plan to wear one to my granddaughter's 'princess tea party' for her birthday this weekend!!  I mean, can a girl really have too many crowns?  I think not!

And here are the three flea.o.logists in person.  Cathie, Jenn and Me.  One of the booths was doing 'sample' sittings for a photo business for a minimal fee.  She had lots of hats and fun props. She did such a great job for us, and we want to send you her way.  She's available to  do your event or family portrait, and she works hard to get it the way YOU want it!! http://www.kristilinton.com/ Thanks Kristi
