"Planting" Pots for Spring!

This was such a fun project, and one that really stretched my creativity.  I saw something similar on Pinterest, but wanted to add a vintage twist.

I started with four inch pots I bought at a discount store, then did different painting techniques on each.

Next I dug through my stash of crafts goodies and found the pink packaging straw and florist's moss.  I made the tiny eggs from sculpy, the 'larger' eggs are actually miniature chicken eggs my friends LaVern shared with me.  I dyed them a lime green with food coloring.

Next I made a green plaster bunny to go under the small cloche jar, cut vines from my Virginia Creeper.  I made a couple of accordion folded flowers, gathered crepe paper, cut pink paper lace and, of course, searched Graphics Fairy for cute vintage graphics from Victorian post cards.

The biggest issue I had was how to put the word spring on the pots.  I tried three different things before settling on just stamping them.

The other methods, either made it hard to read the word, or covered up too much of the pots, whose cute painterly finishes I loved.

Thanks for coming to take a peep peek.

    1. A lot of work, but I so love crafting that it doesn't feel like work at all .... sort of like the work of making mudpies.
