Bird Cage Table Top

Rehabbed a little table this past week.  The veneer on the top was missing in the middle so I filled it with would putty, sanded it and painted it.

Unfortunately the repair showed a little, so I decided on something to distract the eye.  I found this bird and bird cage on Graphics Fairy, and used the reverse Modge Podge method to apply it to the table top.
As you can see its a flip top table, so it can sit back and look artistic and be called into use as an occasional table when needed.
As you can see, I shabbied up the edges to give it some character, before spraying it with a clear acrylic finish.  I was pretty happy with how it turned out. Thanks for coming by.
