Fleattitude for Junking Fun

 Saturday was a lucky day for me ... I got to go to Fleattitude, run by friends Jenn and Cathie.  What an awesome sale ... and the venue is hard to beat.  Its held at the historic rec center in Pleasant Grove ...

 Here are just a few peeks at all the fun that was to be had along with my flea.o.logy business partner Nell, as we strolled through the vast vintage goodness that is Fleattitude.

 There are some really great ideas for stacking in the vintage merchandise.

 Of course a lot of these great dealers will also come to Payson and sell at our biggest flea.o.logy of the year on August 30th.

 There was pretty much something for everyone ... and my money and I were soon parted, as I gathered up more and more goodies along my stroll.

 I thought these cameo cookies were to pretty to eat, but wouldn't they be charming stacked on the pink cake stand to the left?

 I fell in love with these arrows cut from old painted wood ...

 The man is a genius, his wife said he has stacks and stacks of old painted boards ... you can see him here with one of several tables he made from the reclaimed lumber ... he sold every single table he brought, not bad eh?

 I loved Vickie's display of hankies, I thought hanging them close like this, made them look like one of those rag banners that are becoming so popular ... such a charming idea!!

 ... and yes, I saved the best for last ... this is my friends from Two Pitts of a Pear, Brandon and Tonya ...

I loved the small chaise made from two chairs ... these people are upcycling geniuses.

 ... and after all, isn't that just what we all are? Junk junkies?  I confess, it definitely applies to my junk loving ways.  Thanks for coming along on this junking journey!

Farm Chicks Dealer does flea.o.logy Too!

 Brandon and Tonya of Two Pitts of a Pear,  got their Trailer all gussied up for Farm Chicks, pretty cute, eh?

 Here they are with my friend Kelly and me on set up day at the flea market I run at my home four times a year, flea.o.logy.

 So much amazing style, I love these people!!  Besides being super talented, they are also amazingly down to earth, kind and generous!

 I loved hearing the stories about their first trip to sell at Farm Chicks in Spokane, Washington.  They took along four helpers thinking they would take turns selling and shopping the show.  NOT, all six of them were kept busy all the first day selling!!

Brandon said that edgy stuff, like his doll head sculptures were much more popular there.

... and one last parting shot .... I love these assemblages, with the antlers on top ... such talented, talented people.  Come and see them at our last flea.o.logy of the year too, they have opted not to return to Swiss days, but to join us for flea.o.logy, much to our delight, August 30th at 8 A.M.

At Primary Children's for the Best Fund Raiser Ever!

 So, this is me with Grant and Amanda, who do the early show (As in, I wake up to their friendly, newsy chatter every morning!) on our most popular radio station here in Utah, KSL.

KSL hosts a Radiothon every year at our local children's hospital, Primary Children's Medical Center.

Mr. P and I have been answering the phones for this event for more that 20 years.... we usually drag friends along, and this year my son Trevor and his wife Nell came up for their third time to help out.

Trevor and Nell are first in line, with my friend Robin and her Mr, on the other side of me.  Since Trevor and Nell's daughter spent a week at Primary's this past year, they had more enthusiasm than ever for this amazing charity event.

 Above, Doug Wright, the mid morning host, shares the live radio chatter with Grant and Amanda.

Here, Robin and I do a selfie while waiting for our phones to ring.  The radiothon did a different format this year, with just 8 hours on the phone to culminate an add campaign for the hospital that lasted a month, encouraging people to sign onto ksl.com where they could become 'Miracle Makers', by signing up for monthly withdrawals from their credit cards.

The phones were far busier this year,as we started out the radiothon with the first two hour shift.  There was so much energy, it was a lot of fun!

Robin's Mr, is a huge KSL fan, and brought his bobble heads of Greg Wrubell and Doug Wright to get them signed ... here they are with their respective live specimens behind them!

There were also another 20 volunteers, including a bank of Spanish speakers manning phones, these two girls were right across the set up from us ... don't they just make you proud?  Me too!!

This is truly the best charity anywhere, every single dime you donate goes to charity care at the hospital.  The hospitals services 6 western states, and never turns away a sick child because of inability to pay.  You may have read my blog post about the Primary Children's Festival of Trees, in which we also participate. We love this hospital!  As I said its the best charity in the world!

The Vintage Whites Market Comes to Salt Lake Again!!

 What an amazing day Wendy and I had on Saturday.  Ever so much fun, and we both managed to empty our  pockets while loading up bags of treasures.... at the second annual Vintage Whites Market at the State Fair Park in Salt Lake City!

Don't you love the umbrellas in the entry?  Me too, Jenn of 3 Dotters Vintage Rentals put it together.  She is a genius when it comes to combining vintage goodness!

 As we turned to the left to start our vintage trek around the awesome historic building, we immediately ran into our friend Cathy's booth, but alas no Cathie.

 

 Next was Jenn's booth, and she even had a minute for a quick picture with Wendy and me.

 Then we headed up stairs ... loved these two pieces done by the same artistic vendor. 

 ... and we ran into these darling and talented sisters who sell at Treasures with me, Annette and Vicki!

This awesome ampersand was made by Shannon, one of the leaders of the FB Reclaimologist group I belong to on Face Book.

 Above is a shot of the main floor from the staircase ... so many people plus so many goodies just added up to so much energy and great memories.

Here I am with my load for the car ... underneath the cool bed shelf is a full set of printer's type, and it was super heavy!!  My purse is also crammed, and there's a bags of goodies hanging from the back of the dolly!  The cute round suitcase was Wendy's purchase from everyone's favorite flea.o.logy dealer, Vickie!

As we were headed out for the last time, I saw this cute girl keeping an eye on the goods her mom had bought, I asked for a picture, mentioning my blog as an excuse, and she said, "Sure, that's OK, my mom blogs too!"  That just made me laugh!

We finished our perfect day with lunch at Cafe Rio, and an hour of catching up!  How is it that friends always multiply the fun?  Thanks for an amazing day Wendy!
