Halloween Luncheon Table

Just one more day, and I feel like a kid on Christmas Eve!!  I got the table in the dining room set up tonight so that I could show you completed poppers in their 'natural habitat'.

I put them together at work, using the materials above.  It was a lot of fun.  Of course a real popper would have a pull string fire snap tied in and when you pull the two sides it would make a snapping crackle!!  However, fireworks, even small ones, are not available around here, except on certain holidays, and Halloween doesn't qualify, I am sorry to say.
When I got home I thought they looked a little plain, and I love the checkered corners of the cat below, that I found at Graphics Fairy, I thought it would tie in nicely with my checkered diner plates.

And here we go ... this is the full table, complete with the tweaked poppers.

Below there are more pictures of the decorated dining room.

Check back tomorrow morning for pictures of the event itself, and the amazing witch costumes that I am sure will be worn by my adorable and creative friends!

My Garden House Halloween Style!

Welcome to the garden house
 The two 'Best Witches' say,
Its spooky here so come inside,
You might decided to stay!

Just come in from the weather',
so you may sit a spell,
and look out at the leaves that blow,
about the wishing well.

Then you'll enjoy your time here,
Out of the gust a while
Sharing time with the hallow'd folks,
and their funny, toothy smiles.

With  Pollyanna's crystals there,
I see skel'tons near the rafters,
and if you're very quiet here,
You'll hear their quivering laughter!

Our little cottage is ready, dear friends,
for all to dress up and play,
and if you come by to visit us,
We hope you plan to stay!!

Happy Halloween from the 'Best Witches' that welcome all to visit my spooky "Halloween" cottage!!

I am linking up to Home Sweet Home Friday, where my steampunk'n from last week was featured as well!!

Witch Ornaments that Charm!

Yep, its time for more party fare, this time I am showing off the craft each of my guests will have an opportunity to assemble.  I had seen this done with fairies a couple of time on Graphics Fairy, but when I saw one last week that was a witch, I knew I had my party craft!!

I found the hats, wings and most of the 'witches' on Graphics Fairy as well.  Then I dived into my stashes of jewelry and buttons to come up with the bobbles for the 'tail'.  I think it is super charming how the 'tail' sort of waves a bit, reminding one on a mermaid ... and these lovely witches are just as mythical and charming!!

The netting over the face of the witch on the right shows up best in this picture.  You may have noticed in the window picture above that the witch on the left is wearing her tulle as a skirt.

Here are the kits all ready for the big day.  Some of my friends claim not to be crafty, but I think these girls will be pretty easy and fun.  They took me about 15 minutes to put together, once the goodies were gathered.

BTW I was just on Pinterest and saw a cute sign that said "To everyone who follows me on Pinterest: Please act surprised when you receive your D.I.Y. Christmas gift."

I just hope my sweet friends who follow my blog and who are dressing as witches and then are coming to my house, will keep that in mind.
