This weekend was the best ... colder than a witch's kazoo, (as my dh likes to say) but definitely the best. Saturday I got in some after Christmas ornament shopping ... I got these lovelies at Walmart for a quarter each. Since I am planning to do a red and white tree for Festival of Trees, I couldn't be happier about that.
Sunday we had a family pizza party at my son Trevor's house. He is a master pizza chef, and he made up everything from a cheese free pizza to a meat lover's pizza and everything in between. We finished off the evening with dessert pizzas ... coconut, chocolate, nuts, whipped cream, cream cheese, pie filling, yummy.
My daughters Emily and Becca are both expecting their second babies. Becca, on the right is due in two weeks ... It will be three months for Emily. Its so fun to see them sharing this experience.
We came home to watch the first of Downton Abbey's third season that we had tivoed ... (Which was just as amazing as we hoped it would be.) and half way through we got a call from my son Spencer, who had been at the pizza event, to tell us that he and his girlfriend Brittney had just become engaged!! Such an amazing weekend, with the very best saved for last!!

Its a new year, so its out with the old and in with the new. This booth had been our Victorian Christmas parlor display, but with the holidays behind us we were ready for a crisp new look.
Another dealer at the mall and I managed to put together this crisp and clean looking display. 
Just loved the look of it all .... ironstone, old chippy paint, Chippendale curlicues, and the colors of classic Wedgwood!
I am sure that you have heard the phrase, 'Mixing business with pleasure.' Well this week I got to do something like that, I got to mix service with pleasure.
Since I am in charge of delivering the Valentines to the care facilities, and since I don't need to take them for a month, I thought I would take a few of the ones I made, and attach them to a garland using the cute tiny clips shown to the left, and make another banner!! How fun!
I thought this idea would work for a Valentine's party. Make your friend's Valentines, hang them around the room as decor for the party, then at the end hand each friend an envelope addressed to them, with a personal note or poem, ready to be glued on the back of their Valentine, and let them choose their own from your banners!
