Easy Paper Summer Wreath

 Spring, for all intents and purposes, is over ... forget what the calendar says.  The spring wreath on my front door looks tires, and I wanted something fun and crisp ...


After a trip through summer wreaths on Pinterest, I found one that inspired me.




To the left is the wreath I made ... near the bottom of my post is the one I found on Pinterest, with a link to the maker's page.

 I had a wire wreath form on hand, so though my inspiration wreath appears to have been made on a round Styrofoam wreath, this is the direction I went.  I used two sided card stock, that came in a package that was left over from another project.

I used hot glue to spot glue the paper ribbons onto the wreath form, front and back.

I added scalloped medallions in some of the same papers as the 'ribbons' around the center of the wreath!

 I folded the ribbons off center, so that the reverse side of the paper would show as well.  I think it gives each 'ribbon' that 'blue ribbon from the fair' look!

Barbed Wire and Burlap Wreath

 

At long last, a break from our super hot summer weather ... our record breaking super hot summer weather ...

 

and what better way to celebrate than to decorate my door for fall!

I bought the barbed wire and autumn leaf wreath at flea.o.logy this past summer, and then added the squirrel touch.  You can find the squirrel here at Graphics Fairy.

The rosette and stamping the burlap strip was all done in less than an hour.   Now I am truly ready to embrace the cooler autumn days of September.

Trash to Treasure - Valentines Door Hanger

Now that we have fun Valentines touches in the house to prepare us all for the season of love, I thought it was time for a sweet heart door decoration.  I found this red glittered and reticulated metal cone at a second hand store for a dollar.  The glittered hearts are picks from the dollar store.  The fairy and pink bird are unlikely clearanced Christmas ornaments, the ribbon is from stock on hand ... that left me to accordion fold old book pages to tuck into the 'nest' ...

 

... and a couple of great graphics  including the bird in a nest with an envelope from Graphics Fairy to fiddle with a bit in paint ... and voila - our love nest door decor is complete.  Now my guests will get to share a bit of whimsical Valentine sweetness before they even step inside!!  Hope you are feeling loved and that you are having fun with your Valentine additions as well!
