Upcycled Treasures Finnish Style

I  got a chance to go junking my first week here in Finland. We are here as senior missionaries for our church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, our mission is to take care of housing for the young missionaries.

As part of keeping them in the necessities of life, we get to go to thrift stores for dishes and second-hand furniture and the like.  How cool is that?

The thrift store was great, but how fun it was to see this upcycled area.  Isn't this chair fabulous?

The name of the area and product was Plan B, which I thought was brilliant.

They had several decoupaged tables ...
And trays.

There were so many fun chairs ... these are my favorites .... and the black and white chest of drawers, swoon.

I thought the makeover on this great Danish Cupboard was stunning.

...and this suitcase to table transformation was a knockout.

But my favorite piece of the whole show area was this great black and white treatment on this classic craftsman chair!

What fun to get to do what I love, while serving a mission for the Lord that  I've planned for 40 years.

This store is one of a chain and I've yet to check out the others, but I hope the Plan B area is a staple. Stay tuned, I may have more goodies like these to share.

Sweet Gatherings -Vintage Goodness

I've been hearing good things about Sweet Gatherings in Roosevelt for years.
But have never made the ambitious trek ...
As it turns out I should have.
They came to the Vintage Whites Show last month and brought ....
Lots of fabulous goodies!
A few Fleaology dealers have been involved in the occasional sale, but ...
I had no idea how amazing they'd be!

Every inch was indeed sweet ...
And fun too!!
Of course I was sucked in by their color scheme ...
How awesome is this 'hooped skirt' mannequin.
And this bench ...
Absolutely enchanting right down to the details!!
I loved it all.
What talented girls they are!
I definitely plan to go in the spring of 2018 ... Definitely something to look forward to, right?!

Paula and Wendy go to Vintage Whites

Wendy and I had our last Hurrah at Vintage Whites.
Our friend Jenn put together the entrance to the show!!  I loved it.
Here's a fun choppy portrait of talented Jenn.
And her booth ...
I'm always fond of bits and
Clocks!!
And more clocks ...
And here we are!  Ready to check out the rest of the show!

Pumpkins!!
A wash tub fountain that Wendy had to fight herself to leave behind.

We always love Clam and Margo's goodies!!

This was a new booth that I quite liked.
How charming is this?
And that ...
And this too ...
And there's more.
Running into dealers I know is half the fun.
Here's some shots from Cathy and Heidi's  space.
I always drool over striped suitcases.
And old lace ...
And door knobs too.
Mmmmm more lace!!
More fun!
The show was fabulous!  I'm so glad they  held it before it was. time for me to leave .
me to leave!!
