How fun is this?  I got to go to a baby shower for my 'kind of granddaughter' who's having her first baby!!
Lots of yummy sweet treats!
And adorable bottled water!!
Also starring the largest and possibly the cutest diaper cake I've seen!!
Here I am with our girl Eszie!!
And here she shows off her cute preggo profile!!
Here I am with two of my girls!! Such a fun time to get together and share milestones.  Congrats Eszie, just a few weeks!

Wearing Vintage Elegance at Vintage Whites

One of my favorite things about going to vintage shows is the girls who show up in vintage clothing!!

Here we see girls dressed in vintage, rummaging through the racks of charming clothing that is older than they are.

At Vintage Whites a couple of weeks ago, there were several vintage clothing dealers ...

Above are our rummagers showing off their vintage style.

To the right is one of my favorite vintage stylists ... she even comes into the antique mall wearing vintage.
There are so many tempting confections!!
Here are a couple of Treasures customers in their vintage best ... along with a couple of their vintage loving friends.

Another elegant gown and stylish miss.

... and if there were not enough vintage lovers displaying their collections at Vintage Whites shopping, there was also a fashion show, full of time worn elegance!!

My Spring Wreath

Just thought I'd share my 'punny' wreath. I bought the rusty spring wreath at 3dotters last month, knowing I would add a pennant banner to it and finally got it done today.
From a distance it looks like the pennant banner is floating. I'd hate to paint the rusty spring wreath though. The patina is perfect!!  What do you think?

Playing the Numbers

I love these numbers I found on Pinterest,  so I had some fun with them.   I printed the numbers out, then I cut stencils and stipled on the white paint on funky old metal pieces I had on hand!
Then for the black on white I traced the pattern on with pencil then colored it in with a sharply!
This is the pattern I found on Pinterest. Have fun!

The Vintage Whites Market Comes to Town!

Yeah, the day of Vintage Whites finally came!!  It's just once a year here in Utah, and I look forward to it!

Here I am with the show organizers Vanessa and Jana.   It was a bit like meeting the Queen! (queens of Vintage Awesomeness  that is!)
The line goes on forever, but Wendy and I arrived an hour and a half early, so we were close to the front. !

These girls were two and a half hours early and were first to arrive!!  The first fifty in line got great swag bags!

Besides the obvious treasure hunting, fun. meeting up with old friends is nearly as good!  Here Wendy and I reunite with Jenn with whom we attended Farm Chicks 4 years ago!!

Of course I always love Jenn's set up

and there were fresh cut flowers being sold from the back of an old pickup!

Here is Vicki from Treasures Antiques where I work.  Her displays always look amazing as well!!

Clam and Margo's space was also stellar!!

And I got to meet Michele of  Michele Miller Craft!!  She had the best collection of store sign letters EVER!

So just add old friends and new friends into the vintage goods mix and it becomes a perfect day!!
Did I mention the photo booth??

Deco Chair Upcycle Fun!

Just thought I'd take a minute and share a chair I upcycled this week.

I've had it for sale in the antique mall with its blonde 50s wood and brown vinyl seat for about a year.
I had finished it up and planned to put it on the Reclaimologist site for our Wednesday listing day.
But the plumber who had just finished the plumbing for our garret master suite (I'm so excited)  wanted it.  It's amazing what fun paint and fabric will do.

Happy 111th to Dr. Theordore Suess Geisel; A Birthday Party!

Did you know that Dr. Suess just had the 111th anniversary of his birth!
So naturally being the former Elementary School Teacher, and lover of all things Suess that I am ...
I knew that I  needed to have a Dr. Suess Birthday Party!

Putting together the menu for our Suess Bash was a lot of fun, though most of Suessish foods I ran into on Pinterest were for toddler parties ,,, I eventually put together a full, if funky, menu for the party.

Menu
Green Eggs and Ham
Who Hash
Poodle Noodles
Red Fish Blue Fish Jello Cups
Better Butter Battle Bagels with Butter, of course.
Truffula Trees (That actually looked a lot like brocolli)
with a Dr Suess Birthday Cake for dessert

Take all that prep and add some loved ones and you have ... a party never to be forgotten.

After dinner it was time for the entertainment ...  I'd asked a few of my guests to be prepared to read a book with gusto.  Trevor read the Star Bellied Sneeches, adopting an awesome Scottish Accent for Sylvester McMonkey McBean.
Eva read Green Eggs and Ham, with as much gusto as humanly possible!
Then our family friend, Steve, read his signed first edition of Happy Birthday to you ... you can see that my grandson Zach is entranced by the story.
Here is the signature to Steve's Grandfather, who was a personal friend of Theodore Suess Geisel.
... so now its time to sing happy birthday to our literary friend and cut the cake.

The grands had a lot of fun!! Please note the frosting cheeks!!
