Magic is Something You Make

Have I ever mentioned that I run on deadlines?  Its sad but true ... given the choice, you will find me snuggled into an overstuffed antique chair reading a book ...

But the Me with initiative has learned to control that other me by imposing deadlines ...

Thus I  joined the Reclaimologists and Other Crafty Chicks, a facebook site that sells vintage and crafted items ...

To belong we must sell something once a week.  Yeah!!  Deadlines!!
Today we are having an Insta-sale on Instagram at Reclaim_ologists, so naturally I put together something to sell yesterday, using my Hazel and Ruby masking letter stencils.

Above you can see that I decoupaged music paper on before adding the letters.  Then I painted over the letters, and put it in a cool barn wood frame I had on hand ...

I love this quote, so it seemed like the perfect words to add ... and Voila!

If you are on Instagram, come on over and follow us and take a peak at all the wonderful goodies these very talented ladies will be listing ... today!

Its ROCC Instasale Time

Yep, lots of fun yesterday getting ready for the Reclaimologists Instasale on Instagram.

One of the projects I chose was this old wood box ... I found it at a yard sale this summer.  I love these old shop projects, they are so carefully made ... and this one even had the name of the boy and the date, 1928, that it was made.

I painted it, striped it, distressed it and lined it with polkadot paper.  Perfect for our Christmas Theme, don't you think?

Of course the finishing touch is an old post card that I found on Graphics Fairy, which is probably about the same vintage as the box!

To the right is the writing that is in the lid, now covered by paper ... pretty cool eh?

Below is the collage I put together for the instasale posting.  If you are on instagram, be sure to check out Reclaimologists and Other Crafty Chicks today ... there will be lots of fun, crafty and Christmasy stuff for sale.

Halloween Meets Instagram

Today is the day ... its the Reclaim_ologists Instasale on Instagram .... and on the table above are some of my offerings.

Oh, and I had to show you the cute chair I picked up at the Haunted Mill Event a couple of weeks ago from Angie Farmer of The American Homemaker.  I love it!

These guys were so fun to make ... I used glass candle sticks and an old encyclopedia to decopauge them for the bases.  Also used scrapbook paper, vintage crepe paper, ribbon, old buttons, game pieces, rhinestone jewelry parts, washi tape and black Halloween garland!  Such a fun project.

Loved this scrapbook paper, and thought it was perfect to go with the book page designed stand.

I wanted to use a face for Jack that was a bit different than the norm ... so I did some searching on Graphics Fairy and found this guy ... I thought he looked super happy ... so I borrowed his face.
My listing times on our Instagram page are 1:15, 1:30 and 1:45 today if you want to come by and see what's been keeping me busy!!
