Liz (es) at Flea.o.logy

So here is the promised post about Liz, and her compatriots...  Here we see Liz doing some of her amazing face painting.  She is absolutely the best face painter I have ever seen, so its always fun to see her creations when she comes to flea.o.logy, this is her third year!

Liz has always been the only Liz on staff here at flea.o.logy, so when I was signing up ten new dealers this year, and it appeared that three of them were named Liz, I was sure I had double booked someone.  I checked over all my info about them, including multiple emails, texts and fb messages, and found what I thought was the duplication.  Two of them had some common element, not sure what it was, but it was enough for me to meld them all into just two Lizes on our dealer map ... I was thus very surprised when dealer Liz number three showed up.

Fortunately we had not sold all our spaces, and I was able to show her to a space for set up.

With 38 dealers at this show, you can see we literally fill my entire yard with dealers spots, and the fact that we have never had a dealer named Liz, in the nine years we have been doing this is interesting, but not as interesting as the fact that the first time we do have a Liz, we had three ...

... and with our face painter extraordinaire, it was fun to get them all together for a photo op, at this Lizzie's booth.  She makes baby moccasins, that are adorable, in fact I have a pair winging their way to Texas for my grandson Liam, even as we speak ... well, even as I write. The other two Lizes are straight up vintage dealers like me.

It was fun to talk about all the Elizabeth nick names there are out there.  Here are the ones I remember,
Liz, Lizzie, Beth, Betsy, Betty, Liz-Bet (What Queen Elizabeth's father called her growing up) Liza and Eliza.  Have you heard of others?  Since Jane Austen is my favorite author, and her favorite character was Elizabeth Bennett, its sort of surprising that I never named one of my daughter Elizabeth ... but it looks like plenty of other mothers did.

So mother's of Elizabeth's where did you find the name?

July flea.o.logy, the best way to spend a Saturday!

Flea.o.logy day ... I still love it after all these years ... a lot of work, absolutely, adrenalin, a must, exhaustion at the end of the day, definitely.  But after doing 4 or more sales a year for 9 years, I still love it.  Here are some pics and notes on the sale last weekend, here in Payson Utah, with a total of 36 dealers.

This is a closeup of a spot in my space ....
This picture shows about half of my space ...

The side by side Victorian secretary got a new home, it turned out so nicely I was so tempted to keep it.
I thought this was the most unusual find of the whole sale.
This new dealer came over from Vernal to join us!

Love the random pics, like my sons chatting ... please note the disembodied arm.

This is Dealer Dru's third flea.o.logy ... she is a smashing addition to our show!!

The Scottish festival was going on in town too, fortunately for us the fliers they sent out were misprinted with the address as 250 N. Main, instead of 250 S. Main ... we are at 218 N Main, and the crowd we attract on our own, made us look like a festival ... it was super fun to meet lots and lots of men, and ladies in kilts!

This dealer had rusty antique keys available for a buck ... not bad when I am seeing them at antique stores these days for $5!

This charming fretwork and picket surround found a new owner at the sale, namely me ... It was just $125 and will perfectly span the last open bit of my soon to be fenced back yard ... I am pretty sure I couldn't have found the components for the amount I paid, and Mr. Fleaology, has just a little less work in his future!!  Thanks dealers Vicki and Mark from Bountiful's Pick it Vintage!!

If you've followed me for  long, you know how I love a pennant banner, there were several dealers sporting them... it makes it feel so festive ... sort of like a circus!!
This part of the venue is my back lawn, leading to my garden house ...
With the Cravings Truck serving up gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches, and the Snowie truck making healthy slushies, we were all set!!

A couple more shots of Jennine's booth, who's stuff I always adore ...

and lest you think I forgot to take pictures of 2 Pits of  a Pear's set up, (as if)  they are getting their own blog post ... I adore there goodies, and it was super fun to hear their stories of selling at the Farm Chicks sale this year!! So stay tuned!
Of course Liz, our resident face painter did her usual amazing work... and she will also be featured in my future post about a funny thing that happened at flea.o.logy with our four Lizs in all!!
Thanks for stopping by to enjoy flea.o.logy ... this cute couple came at the end.  They live in town, but have never stopped before.  But when they saw this carved rooster, as they drove by, they knew they had to stop at flea.o.logy for the first time.  Don't you think they look happy that they did?

Alice in Wonderland Card Banner

On my Mad Hatter's tea party blog post, I had a a request for a tutorial on the cute Alice Card Banner, but since it was a gift, and I am against copying the designs of others, I went out on the Internet and gathered some public domain images of  basic playing cards, and very old Alice illustrations that have fallen out of copy right.  If you saw that post you may recognize them as uncolored versions of some of the same. So here they are copyright free, just for you!

I am including my photo shopped version of the cards.  If you liked the colored ones on the other banner, feel free to color these yourself, after printing them off, of course.

This 'Alice' putting on a crown seemed like the perfect selection for the Alice Queen Card.

Of course, who else would be the Queen of Hearts, but the old girl herself!? "Off with their heads!"

The rabbit in his court crier outfit demanded he be of the hearts suite, and since I was doing Kings and Queens, he received a promotion.  Though really, it seems to me that the Queen of Hearts would have a smaller and fidgety sort of person for a spouse, so Mr. Rabbit fills the bill!

Then last of our four card suite is the star of the Tea Party!!  We all love the Mad Hatter, so it seems only fitting he be made King!

Have fun making your own version of the Alice Banner!
