Scandinavianish Christmas Tree

... and here we go again ... the service group I belong to, We Can, started work on our ornaments for our tree this year...
These ornaments are made of a white, self drying clay made of corn starch and baking soda.

We make a tree each year and donate it to the Festival of Trees, one of two major fund raisers that are held for Primary Children's Hospital's charity care.

This paper bird was made by taking the silhouette, or shape of a bird I found on Graphics Fairy and shown below.

We will spend another work day making ornaments, then we will put the tree together the first Monday after Thanksgiving ... so stay tuned to see the completed tree.

And this is our inspiration tree, put together by my friend Jill last year.  I love how the red and white pop on the green tree.

  1. I have the butter presses that would work for those clay ornaments! Great ideas here. Thanks!

  2. Lovely. Never thought about it but it would work marvelously with felt too! Great idea.
