Fleattitude for Junking Fun

Saturday was a lucky day for me ... I got to go to Fleattitude, run by friends Jenn and Cathie.  What an awesome sale ... and the venue is hard to beat.  Its held at the historic rec center in Pleasant Grove ...

Here are just a few peeks at all the fun that was to be had along with my flea.o.logy business partner Nell, as we strolled through the vast vintage goodness that is Fleattitude.

There are some really great ideas for stacking in the vintage merchandise.

Of course a lot of these great dealers will also come to Payson and sell at our biggest flea.o.logy of the year on August 30th.

There was pretty much something for everyone ... and my money and I were soon parted, as I gathered up more and more goodies along my stroll.

I thought these cameo cookies were to pretty to eat, but wouldn't they be charming stacked on the pink cake stand to the left?

I fell in love with these arrows cut from old painted wood ...

The man is a genius, his wife said he has stacks and stacks of old painted boards ... you can see him here with one of several tables he made from the reclaimed lumber ... he sold every single table he brought, not bad eh?

I loved Vickie's display of hankies, I thought hanging them close like this, made them look like one of those rag banners that are becoming so popular ... such a charming idea!!

... and yes, I saved the best for last ... this is my friends from Two Pitts of a Pear, Brandon and Tonya ...

I loved the small chaise made from two chairs ... these people are upcycling geniuses.

... and after all, isn't that just what we all are? Junk junkies?  I confess, it definitely applies to my junk loving ways.  Thanks for coming along on this junking journey!

Type Tray and Grandkids Names

Just thought I'd take a minute to share my type tray!!  I bought the tray from Keith at Treasures Antiques, the Antique Mall where I work ... and paid 'Gulp', full price, a rarity for me because I am a dealer and always know I can find an item later at a better price.  In this case, I had never seen a type tray like this one, with even square, and I loved it.

I took it home and tried it with my extensive cameo collection .... fail, so bad I didn't even snap a picture.

Then I saw this tray with watch faces on Pinterest and gave it a try ...

I didn't really like it either ... so .... then ....

When I saw this on Instagram ... I thought ....

... hey, I have all those letters tiles for sale at Treasures, so maybe ...

I that is how I decided to use the tray and the letters to do a little tribute to my 16 grandchildren ...
 ... and here it is!

I mounted it on the window on the landing of my staircase, and I love how the blue tiles tie it into the whole window scene.  What you don't see here, is that on the left is a photo gallery of ancestors on the wall going up to the landing and to the right is a photo gallery of my children and grand children going from the landing to the second floor. It seemed like the perfect spot!

I actually have 3 of my grandchildren staying for ten days while their parents are on vacation.  I don't do a lot of babysitting for my kids, but I did hear, recently, that grandparents who babysit are less likely to develop Alzheimer's Disease .... sounds good to me.

Steam Punk Fun at Vine Street

I'm still loving my friend Marci's booth at Vine Street Antiques in Salt Lake City!!  She is so creative!  She and shop owner Rusty even did a few booths at Farm Chicks in Washington  the beginning of the summer.  I so wish I had planned things better so I could have gone!

Anyway, it was fun to see how she has changed things out, so I thought I would take a few pictures to share with you all!!
 Love the old film projector!

Gears and keys are always a hit!
I always love her historic robotic pictures!!  Where does she find these goodies, anyway.
Globes and crafted robotics of course!
and lots of gages, and old photos too!
... and as always, the robots are my favorite.  Aren't the wrench arms just the best!!

Thanks Vine Street for always having such amazing dealers.  Its always a treat to visit your store!!
