Gingerbread Houses at the Festival of Trees.

I know, I know, you are all sick of the festival of trees, but really seeing the gingerbread houses is sort of like desert when you go there, so here are a few of my favorites.

The white house constructed from gingerbread, frosting and candy was a big undertaking.  In fact the designers/decorators was actually a group, not surprisingly.  To the right top is a close up to show the attention to detail.  It was amazing.
My Granddaughter Eva's favorite was the Tangled tower of course.  It has a purple roof and a Princess, how could it not be her favorite.
Of course we also liked the magic of the Weasly family's abode all decked out for the holidays.  Its gives one a whole new 'slant' on the story of that magical witch's cottage in the forest that attracted the attention of Hansel and Gretel, doesn't it.

And I saved the best for last.  The 'Up' house was magically recreated in gingerbread, fondant and candy by my adorable friend Chelsea Jorgenson.  Her mother Jenn is also an amazing cake decorator, so its easy to see that the apple (candied of course) doesn't fall far from the tree.  Congrats on an amazing work of art Chelsea!!
