`I have wanted to do one of these shadow box clocks since I first saw one on Pinterest. Then last week I found a modern, battery operated alarm clock at the second had store. I just gutted it, which was easy since it was just a little battery deal, used E6000 to attach the glass and got started on the fun part.
I used tiny chicks I got from Julie, the Adventures of Blue Girl blogger, at the Vintage Whites Sale last year, a graphic from Graphics Fairy some green Easter garland from the dollar store, and a few of my tiny vintage millinery flowers. Its hard to photograph, sorry about that, but its so fun and whimsical, I love it.
I think I see more of these in my future. I have a larger clock case that i want to do a a doll house room. Should be fun.
Thanks for stopping in to see what I've been doing.
Paula, I love it! I saw some Easter shadow boxes on Pinterest yesterday that used old sewing machine drawers. I just bought a small drawer at an antique store in Oatman AZ this weekend, so I am putting one together. I would have never thought of the alarm clock...it's perfect! Thank you for inspiring me this morning. I'm sorry I haven't been to Fleaology for awhile...there always seem to be conflicts. Hope there is something this Spring. =D
