Decoupaged Jar Lids! For Stylish Craft Supplies!

Tutorial Tuesday - Pretty Decoupaged Jar Lids

If you are anything like me, you are a crafter, which means you are by necessity a collector of elements.  I am a thrifty crafter and get a lot of my supplies at yards sales and second hand stores.  Being thrifty I store them in repurposed containers like the ugly jars above.

However ... I thought ... why not pritify those jars and so .... I took the lids out to the garage and spray painted them a fun spring green.

I printed off some great vintage art that I had collected from Graphics Fairy.  and other odd sources.  Then I traced around the lid for a beginning cut line.  Of course I wanted the picture smaller that the outside measurement of the lid so I continued to cut a little more, round and round until it was the size I wanted.

Next I brushed Modge Podge onto the lid, placed the graphic on slid it around until it was where I wanted it.

Next I brushed the top of the grohic on the lid with Modge Podge making sure to get our all the bubbles under the paper. (Sometimes your finger is the best thing to use for this, rebrush over your finger marks for a uniform finish.)

After a few minutes drying time, I added a bead of Tacky Glue around the edge and pressed on the rick rack I had chosen for trim.

Now its ready to dry,  you can see that some of the tacky glue is smudged around the rick rack, but it will dry clear.

Here are all the jars I did today snuggled together in a basket to make for easy carrying.

I really do feel that I was able to happify these jar, just looking at them makes me smile.  Of course the goodies inside are fun as well.  Thanks for coming along!
